Capturing Nature Logo

I was recently asked to give a talk and create the logo for the "Capturing Nature through Art and Photography Festival" at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge that takes place May 12-15.  The festival opens on International Migratory Bird Day and will offer photography workshops, field sketching classes, travel lectures, etc.  It sounds like it will be a great event.  If anyone is interested let me know and I can send you more info.

But back to the point of this post.  I worked on the logo this week and have narrowed it down to three concepts.  I struggled a lot with this logo because it had to incorporate three different ideas - nature, photography, and art.  No small feat I tell you!  You can see what I came up with below.  There are several options within each concept.  Right now I haven't worked on the font at all and they all need a little further tweaking, but I didn't want to go any further without deciding on the direction.  So let me know your favorite.  Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Concept 1 - 3D Circles

Concept 2 - Shutter Palette

Concept 3 - Tripod Easel

I like the top tripod easel design best (with the bird flying onto the canvas), followed by the bottom shutter design (with the corvid and the paintbrushes).

HI,
I like the tripod design too.

I like the middle one, as it isn't a sequence. It gets the idea across in one image. But they're all great. And what a cool conference!

Nep, I am with Annie Ray. I like the top easel the best, and next the bottom shutter design. Nice work!!

I like the 3D circles design but the easel options seem more "you". You can't go wrong with any of them.

I like the middle one a lot - but it's very similar to the logo for Google's Picasa program - so for some folks it may bring that to mind instead of the festival. My favorite is actually the first one - it's bold colors/images would translate well to t-shirts and other printed materials.

My favorites are the first design in concept 2, and the first design in concept 3. You are so talented, Vanessa! They really are all so great!

I like the 3D circles because of the colors, but I like the creativity of the easle design with the bird flying onto the canvas.

Hey...
You are going to Ottawa? One of my favorite cities! Quaint with European charm. I have taken your sister there a couple times, and have been there on business countless times.
I think the first logo in Concept three is the most creative....but my favorite for a "logo" is the first one in Concept two.

The first in #2 shutter series. It's bold and succinct. Does Ottawa have a trademark species?

What a great opportunity! I love the first image in "tripod easel." Really attractive to the eye, and the concept works, too. But my second pick is the first image in "shutter palette." I guess I like images of birds that show them as free or about to be free!
